63 neighbors/families were supplied with laundry and hygiene products at our Milwaukie South event at QED on February 17.
We met folks referred to LoveOne by Clackamas Women’s Services, 211, Kaiser Permanente, local school counselors, social workers, faith communities and more. The need for assistance continues to increase, amplified by recent weather events.
In addition to providing services at our various laundry and shower events, we’ve been fielding a growing number of email and phone requests from folks in Clackamas County who are faced with choosing whether to pay their utility bills or feed their families. Purchasing laundry and hygiene supplies are simply out of reach. The cost of laundry detergent, a bottle of shampoo or a box of menstruation supplies may not seem like much to many of us, but the individuals we talk with are near tears when they find out we are happy to help meet those needs, allowing them to apply their funds to food and shelter instead.
If you would like to help, we could use items ordered from our Amazon Wish List, as well as people willing to deliver care packages to families in Clackamas County. Pick-up is in Oregon City, delivery locations vary. Please email Hello@LoveOneCommunity.org if you would like to help make deliveries.
Neighbors helping neighbors is how we roll.
