Milwaukie South - 10/18/23

Wednesday, October 18 felt like Fall! Cool, crisp air and an earlier sunset reminded us that winter is just around the corner. As we work to prepare our neighbors living outside for the cold weather, we are thankful for the remaining dry and sunny days.

Our third Wednesday event at QED continues to be a busy one! 66 people came through for services, hygiene supplies and laundry. 59 loads of laundry were washed and dried thanks to the expert guidance of Jess and her laundromat team. Thank you, Jess and Ben, for always showing up and loving our neighbors (and their pets) so well.

In the parking lot of Integrated Health, our hygiene coordinator Laurie and her team of volunteers helpd folks shop for basic hygiene supplies while additional volunteers helped serve chili, chips and rolls for a nice hot meal. We were able to spend time chatting with everyone who came through, checking in on folks as well as their family and friends. We sure love what we do!

Special thanks to our much lov

ed community partners who continually show up to help support our neighbors: Anna/Cascade Aids Project, Jerry, Gretchen and Joelle/4D Recovery, and Blake/Outside In. We also had a few new faces helping out at the event - thank you to April, Kelly-Shane, Paige and Maya. Please come back again soon!
